The Nova Scotia author's second book, set in Kiev over the New Year of 1988 into 1989, also took a Distinguished Favorite for its cover, while his debut The Girl in the Water was honoured for its audiobook. The Next Year's Snow series has now sold to more than 80 public library systems in seven countries.
